FAQ
What Insurances Do We Accept?
For therapy services, LEAPS is in-network with Alabama Medicaid, BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama, and ALLKids.
We also have a private pay option and can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
How Do I Get Started?
In order for us to provide service, we must obtain a referral from the child’s primary care physician.
The referrals will need to be either on a prescription or on an Alabama Medicaid referral form with the child's demographics and notes attached. Your child’s pediatrician can fax these to us at (205) 338-1532 or (205) 278-5358.
Once we receive the information, we will contact you to schedule an evaluation. If you know the pediatrician has sent over the referral and you have not heard from us, please call our office at (205) 884-7621.
If My Child Is Receiving Therapy Through the School System, Do They Need Outpatient Treatment Too?
Private therapy services differ from school in that they are determined by showing a deficit in skills chronologically and across all five developmental areas. Our goals are based on individual skills, not those for a certain age range. We essentially assist in filling in all missing gaps. It is always helpful for children who qualify to receive both private and school-based services. You will see great gains by filling in those gaps from early years and offering support for new-age skills.
